About us
Wild Again was born from the teaming up of a professional gardener and wildlife photographer with an environmental scientist. Together we share a deep love of the natural world, and of the intangible magic of wild places. We work with our clients to invite that magic in, weaving together human elements with ecosystem restoration and wildlife support.
In the UK, our gardens span an area over three times the size of all of our national nature reserves combined. We all have the opportunity to become guardians of the natural world, leaders in saving our planet and our plant and wildlife communities.
When a garden stops trying to just be another outdoor room, and is instead allowed to become a sanctuary, a place of connection and peace, the impact on its human guardians is huge. We've seen this again and again, in our own garden and in clients' gardens. When you have a wilder garden, one which you feel in deep connection with, it provides a fundamental, stabilising sense of hope, grounding, wonder and joy.
Three pillars
The time of the aggressively manicured, ecologically dead garden is over. By weaving together the human needs in a garden with active restoration of native plant communities, wildlife habitat and water management, we create sanctuary for all.
We have lost so much of our connection to the natural world, of which we are a part. Most of us find it far easier to identify car badges than tree species. The average child spends more than 1000 hours on devices in a year, and only a fraction of that outdoors. More than ever before, nature desperately needs us to find our way back.
All we need to do to find our way back is to light a spark. Once our connection to the natural world is sparked again, it's like a path we can't stop running down — it's like running home. Inviting some wildness into your garden won't be the end. It's just the beginning of an ancient love story.
The whole nation has felt the fear from the climate crisis this year. The reality that we will be battling a fast-changing and unpredictable climate is unavoidable to us now.
We are not helpless though. There are ways to make the land under our guardianship far, far more resilient to climate extremes. Clever rainwater management, active soil restoration, resilient planting and food growing methods are some of the tools we have available to us. We consider these in all of our designs with our clients.

Working with both David and Abigail has been an inspiring experience. They have created a garden from a blank canvas providing us with a landscape of which we had no previous conception.
